Elmore F.C. are a football club based in Tiverton, Devon, England. They currently play in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division.
History
The club was founded in 1947 and joined the South Western League in 1974 and played there for four years before gaining admittance to the Western Football League. The club spent more than a decade languishing near the bottom of Division One, but finally a runners-up performance in 1990–91 enabled promotion to the top flight of the league. In the 1994–95 season, they reached the 4th round of the FA Vase, as well as claiming a runners-up finish in the Premier Division. However, the club's fortunes declined following that successful season and Elmore returned to Division One after a last-place finish in 2003–04.
Elmore transferred to the SW Peninsula League after the 2012-13 season.
Stadium
The club play at Horsdon Park, Heathcoat Way, Tiverton, EX16 4DB.
The main stand is called the Adam Stansfield Stand, named after the player who played for the club until he was spotted by Yeovil Town at 21. He had a successful career in league football but it was cut short when he developed bowel cancer and died at the age of 31 in August 2010. In honour of the player the club renamed the stand in March 2011.[1][2]
