Relation to Hicks-Beach and other Hickses

Through genealogical charting, many famous people such as Elias Hicks are found to be descendants of Sir Ellis.[citation needed]

Hicks was knighted at the Battle of Poitiers for bravery in capturing a set of colors from the French.

Ellis' son was John Hicks of Tortworth, and his great grandson was Baptist Hicks, 1st Viscount Campden.
