Elder God

A race of Elder Gods overthrown by a present race of younger gods is a mythic theme in the Ancient Near East[citation needed] and in Indo-European mythologies of the Ancient Greeks, Ancient Germans and other early civilisations (see Titan (mythology), Titanomachy).
Modern adaptations of this mythology include:
- Elder God (Cthulhu Mythos), a type of fictional deity added to H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.
- The Elder God, a video-game character in the Legacy of Kain series.
- Elder Gods (Marvel Comics), fictional gods in the Marvel Universe.
