Edward Stuart

The Rt Rev Edward Craig Stuart, DD (1827 – 1911[1]) was the 2nd Anglican Bishop of Waiapu[2] whose Episcopate spanned a 16 year period[3] during the second half of the 19th century.[4]
He was born in Edinburgh, educated at Trinity College, Dublin [5] and ordained in 1850.[6] With his great friend Thomas Valpy French[7] he worked in India[8] as a CMS Missionary for 21 years, firstly at Agra and latterly (until his elevation to the Episcopate) at Jalalpur. His last calling was in Persia.[9] He died on 15 March 1911.[10]
