Edward L. Shaughnessy

Edward L. Shaughnessy, also known by his Chinese name Xia Hanyi (Chinese: 夏含夷; born 1952), is an expert on early Chinese history[1] and Lorraine J. and Herrlee G. Creel Professor at the University of Chicago.[2]
Shaughnessy received his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University. He joined the faculty at the University of Chicago in 1984.
