Edmund P. Radigan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Edmund P. Radigan represented the 2nd District of Richmond County in the New York Assembly as a Republican from 1945 to 1948.[1] He is perhaps best known in history for the legislation he authored in 1947 which would have allowed for, if past, the secession of the borough of Staten Island from the City of New York. Over forty years later the cause of succession was taken up by then state senator John Marchi, who would later also author legislation that would have allowed for Staten Island secession.[2]
