Ed Gilbert (born Edmund F. Giesbert on June 29, 1931 May 8, 1999) was an American actor, with extensive credits in both live action roles and voice work in animation, although he was better known for the latter. He is well-known as Fenton Hardy on 1970s television's The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. He was best known for being the voices of Thrust and Blitzwing in the 1984-86 seasons of The Transformers Sunbow-Marvel cartoon, Thirty-Thirty & Shaman in BraveStarr, and Baloo in the Disney animated series TaleSpin. He was the voice of Puggsy & Daddy Starling in Tom and Jerry: The Movie. He was the voice of Mr. Smee in Peter Pan and the Pirates. He was the voice of Phasir in the Aladdin TV series. He was the voice of the Mandarin in the first season of Iron Man: The Animated Series [1] He died on May 8, 1999 of lung cancer. His grave is located at Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary in Newhall, California.
