Edwin Chau (Chinese: 周本立; pinyin: Zhōu Běnlì) is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 49th district, encompassing the western San Gabriel Valley. Prior to being elected to the State Assembly, he was a Montebello Unified School District trustee from 2000 to 2012. He has been an attorney who owns his own law firm, an engineer for IBM, and a computer programmer. He received his BS from University of Southern California and his JD from Southwestern University School of Law.
