Eclectika is the annual techno-cultural festival of National Institute of Technology Raipur in the Chhattisgarh state of India. It is usually a three day long event, held during the end of January every year since its inception in 2007. One of the largest fests of central India it attracts thousands of participants from all over India .
History
Eclectika started in 2007 due to the efforts of NIT Raipur students and since then, it has being organised with great enthusiasm every year.
Eclectika ’09 consisted of 60+events and performances. Since then the number of events increased dramatically with each passing year.
A new theme is associated with Eclectika every year. The theme for Eclectika'13 was "The Rendezvous of Artists". The idea beind this theme was to bring out the artists within a technical students and give them a platform to nurture their talents, Eclectika’12 came up with the theme “THE PARADISE UNSOILED”, Eclectika’11 under the theme “UNVEIL THE COURAGEOUS YOU” and Eclectika’10 with the Halloween theme of “BEYOND THE DARK EDGE”.
It is one of the very few fests to have a theme song of its own. "Feel" was the official theme song of Eclectika'11 composed and performed by NIT Raipur students.
Events
Celebrity Night
The main attraction of eclectika is the celebrity night which gathers widespread attention. The cultural night features music, dance performances, celebrity entertainment and much more. Celebrity night of Eclectika’12 “THE BANDISH BAND”
About Bandish Band, it was formed in the year 2005 by one of India’s most respected drummer and percussionist- Chris Powell, who was earlier, associated with the band “Euphoria” for several years. Since then, they have been performing great songs time & again.
On 25th Feb ’12(Celebrity night) the crowd could feel Euphoria & enjoyed the Celebrity Night with great joy. Also the fusion night enthralls.
The word “FUSION” means “merging of different elements into a union”. It was the fusion of ‘Fun’ and ‘Tradition’ showcased by students of NIT Raipur and various prestigious colleges.
24th feb evening, fire was set on stage by power packed performance of the Band of NIT Raipur which energized the audience to an untouched level. After the enthralling performance of the college Band it was turn of the standup comedian NITIN GUPTA (Rivaldo) to give audience flurry of laugh. He received grand applause for his punches and audience enjoyed every single moment.
After that came the glimpse of vast Tradition of Chhattisgarh and excited the audience with some thrilling stunts.

Eclectika consists of events like POLITRIX- an election and campaigning based event, STEP UP-one of the most popular events because of its free style dance form, YOUTH CHEF- a cooking competition, CHARACTER MASK-event to showcase artistic talent, SPELL BEE-a spelling event, ANTAKSHARI-to create an ambience of melody, DESI BEATS - which showcased the traditional dance forms of India, IMPECCABLE 5 –testing group coordination and mental and physical strength to name a few. There were many other events like Doodles, Dil Dosti, Legal Eagle, Drishtikone,Snoop dog, Short Circuit, Sur Taal, Market X, King of the Ring, Junkyard Wars,Direstor's Cut, Goonj-Nukkad Natak, Good Morning Eclectika, Code Neeti, etc.
Eclectika also organises many online events like Mad Ads- an opportunity to show creativity and imagination through ads, Corners of College, Face of Facebook-the popularity meter on Facebook and many more.
Organisation
Eclectika is organised with the combined efforts of all the committees of NIT Raipur working together. The "Technocracy" - technical committee of NIT Raipur, "Sanskriti" - cultural committee of NIT Raipur, literary committee of NIT Raipur and "E-cell" - entrepreneurship cell of NIT Raipur play a major role in the successful completion of Eclectika.
The Go Green Club, Sports Committee, Click club and Raaga also contribute in the huge success of Eclectika.
Eclectika Over the Years
Eclectika has created new horizons and is on its way to be one of the most successful fests of India. It has evolved into the most eagerly awaited event for any student of NIT Raipur due to the unique experience that it offers.
