East Point Mall is a shopping mall located in Simei, Singapore. It is a six-storey complex that serves the needs of residents in Simei and Tanah Merah. The shopping mall is known for two attractions: The Learning Hub of the East, and Pet Safari, which was once the largest pet store in Asia, which sells pets, pet accessories and a vet. The mall also holds a mass line dance every Saturday.
It is managed by Frasers Centrepoint Malls recently, but it is owned by NTUC Income.
The original mall (1997–2013)
A wide variety of outlets allows residents to have a one-stop shopping area.
There are many food and beverage outlets serving food from simple street fare to fine dining restaurants. A food court is located on the fifth level, with local, Korean and Japanese dishes.
Books, music and stationary stores are located throughout the mall. Popular Bookstore is a large store selling books, stationaries and electronics, together with Challenger around Eastpoint Mall. There is also a Daiso store at Simei Eastpoint Mall, which had been started operating since 2011 (replaces the withdrawn Acu-Slim - Bizniche LLP, Stickerstamp, and The Hearing Solution Company).
The top floor, which was previously a Golden Village cinema and a children's pool, currently houses a bunch of tuition and enrichment centres such as Morris Allen English, Tien Hsia Language School and Kumon.
Clothing and accessory shops make up the bulk of the shopping mall. There are casual and formal clothes, lingerie, winter clothing and many accessories.
A supermarket, NTUC FairPrice is located on the basement level. It offers food products, household necessities and luxury items like alcohol.
There are also many other shops like a dry cleaner, pet shops, opticians and hair salons.
Redevelopments
East Point Mall is currently closed for major renovation works to late 2014. The revamped mall will feature refreshing retail concepts, more F&B outlets and improved amenities. More details of the new tenant mix will be released soon. As of now, NTUC Fairprice has moved temporarily to the open field next to the mall to serve the residents of Simei and Tanah Merah.
Vicinity
Many shops are in the vicinity of the mall. There is another Old Chang Kee outlet selling finger snacks, two hawker centers (NTUC Foodfare) and two 24-hour convenience stores (7-Eleven and Cheers).
Changkat Primary School, Changkat Changi Secondary School, Changi General Hospital, Changi Simei Community Centre and Simei MRT station are all less than 10 minutes away from the mall. There is a shuttle bus service between the shopping center and Changi General Hospital.
