Earnest Jackson, Jr. (born December 18, 1959) is a former professional American football running back in the National Football League for six seasons for the San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He ran for at least 900 yards in a season for each of his three teams. Jackson played college football at Texas A&M University and was drafted in the eighth round of the 1983 NFL Draft. In 1984 and '85 he ran over a thousand yards each year, respectively. He ended his career with 4,167 yards on 1059 caries along with 22 touchdowns.He also caught the ball for 695 yards on 87 receptions.
