E-Werk
The E-Werk was a techno music club in Berlin, which was previously an electrical substation. Located near Checkpoint Charlie, It was the most influential venue in the techno scene from 1993 to 1997.
As the first major exhibition, which was entirely devoted to techno-art, first time in 1994 Chromapark took place in e-business. The club was operated by Hille Saul, Andreas Rossmann, Ralf Regitz and Lee Waters.
Permanent resident DJs were DJ Disco, DJ Clé, Jonzon, Woody, Terry Belle and the English Hazel B. The DJ elite in the world played at numerous events. [1] On Fridays here Dubmission parties were celebrated with their Residents Kid Paul and Paul Van Dyk. Paul pays homage to the club by remixing one of his most famous tracks, "For An Angel" and titling the remix (E-Werk).
On 24 July 1997, the power station closed as a techno club. The refurbished building of the E-Werk was reopened in 2005 - the heritage-protected area provides a unique architecture for events on multiple floors as well as offering modern office space.
On August 30 2011, rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers played their entire new album, I'm with You in sequence minus one song and including two hits. Deemed, "Red Hot Chili Peppers Live: I'm With You", the concert was streamed via satellite into movie theaters in various parts of the world including Europe and North America.[1]
On September 20 2012, British rock band Muse debuted several tracks from their new album The 2nd Law.
