Durr-e-Shahwar

Durr-e-Shahwar is a Pakistani drama written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Momina Duraid.[1] It was originally aired on Hum TV from March , 2012 to June 16, 2012. The drama serial featured an ensemble cast consisting of Qavi Khan, Samina Peerzada, Noman Ejaz, Nadia Jamil, Mikal Zulfiqar, Sanam Baloch, Umer Naru, Maya Ali, Saba Faisal and Mohammad Ahmed.

Plot

The drama starts with Shandana (Nadia Jamil) and Haider (Nouman Ejaz), who have been married to for 8 years, arguing over breakfast. Shandana gets mad at Haider for not taking care of Sophia (Sophia Syed)their daughter .Meanwhile, Haider is angry at Shandana for always getting on his back. Shandana arrives at Murree to her parents house on a holiday along with Sophia. Durr-e-Shahwar (Samina Peerzada) and Mansoor (Qavi Khan) (Shandana's parents) are very loving towards Shandana and Sophia, but Shandana envies her mother thinking that her mother lead a comfortable and happy life with a loving husband and no worries while Shandana is a working women with a careless husband. Shandana always compares Haidar and her father saying that Mansoor is so loving but one day Durr-e-Shahwar reveals that life for her wasn't as easy as Shandana thought.When she got married and moved to Mansoor's house, Mansoor's mother was cold towards her and did not appreciate her. At last, she accepted her and then Shandana realized that Durr e Shahwar's life was not a bed of roses. Being a housewife did not ensure happiness for Durr-e-Shahwar.
