Dunleavy

Dunleavy is an Anglicization of the Irish Mac or O'Duinnshléibhe, a surname of ancient Gael royals. Variants of the anglicized surname Dunleavy include Dunlevy and Donlevy among many others. The MacDonlevy/MacNulty were the line of historical kings of Ulidia (kingdom), who last ruled the Gaels' Ulaidh as a Nation.^[1] Dunleavy means “fortress on the mountain”,^[2] referencing the Dunleavy’s still to this day discernable massive iron age fortress Mound at Down (Downpatrick).
