Dugald Bruce Lockhart is an Anglo-Scottish actor.
Background and education
Dugald Bruce Lockhart was born in Fiji in 1968. His great-grandfather, J. H. Bruce Lockhart, and his great-uncles Rab Bruce Lockhart and Logie Bruce Lockhart, were all public school headmasters and all played rugby union for Scotland. Another forebear, Sir Robert Bruce Lockhart, was an author and adventurer. His uncle Sandy Bruce-Lockhart, Baron Bruce-Lockhart, was a politician.
Dugald Bruce Lockhart trained for a career in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, then worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre among others. Since 1998 he has worked as an actor with Propeller, an all-male theatre company, of which he is now an associate director. He has appeared in The Deep Blue Sea as Freddie Paige in 2008 alongside Greta Scacchi. He has directed graduate productions at Italia Conti Drama School and also at The Central School for Speech and Drama. As an actor he most recently he played David Cameron in The Three Lions at the Edinburgh Festival 2013, written by William Gaminara for which he was nominated by The Stage for best actor. Before that he played the title role in Propeller's Henry V. In 2010 he played the lead role of Jack in The Cage (a play which he wrote and produced with his production company BBL Productions and the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, directed by Richard Baron) at the Edinburgh Festival. He played Richard Hannay in the touring version of 39 Steps 2009/2010. In December 2013 he directed a production of Romeo and Juliet for the Teatre Akademia in Barcelona, in Catalan. He is currently staging the revivals of A Midsummer nights Dream and Comedy of Errors for Propeller in his role as associate director.

Dugald is currently married to actress/VoiceOver artist, Penelope Bruce-Lockhart (Rawlins).
