Dudley House, London

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dudley House is a Grade II* listed house at 100 Park Lane in Mayfair, London.[1] Notable historic owners of Dudley House have included several members of the Ward family and Sir Joseph Robinson, 1st Baronet, the South African mining magnate.[2] Robinson frequently used the house for entertaining, hosting performances by singers Nellie Melba and Clara Butt at the house.[2]

Dudley House was badly damaged in the Blitz in World War II, and later reacquired by the Grosvenor Estate. The house was converted into offices by architects Basil Spence and Anthony Blee in 1969-70, who remained sympathetic to Dudley House's historic interiors.[2] The house was occupied by offices for sixty years before its recent reversion to a private residence.[2]
