Drosh is a town of Chitral District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is located at 35°33'29N 71°47'33E with an altitude of 1,100 m (3,609 ft).[1]

Climate

Drosh has a Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csa) with hot, mostly dry summers and cool moist winters with some snow.

Governors of Drosh from 1856 ~ 1969

When Aman ul Mulk was Mehtar of Chitral in 1856, Shahzada Kohkan Baig was Governor of Drosh. He remained until 1870. After that Mehtar Aman ul Mulk appointed his son Shahzada Shahi Mulk as Governor of Drosh. He was Governor of Drosh from 1870 to 1892. When Shahzada Shahi Mulk was governor of Drosh at that time Drosh province was extended Broze to Chaqansarai (in Afghanistan). After Shahi Mulk's death Kohkan Baig became governor of Drosh for a second time. When Umara Khan of Jandol attacked Drosh, Kohkan Baig failed to save Drosh Fort and fled. After that Shahzada Hisamul Mulk became governor of Drosh and he remained governor until 1969.[citation needed]
