Drafi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Drafi (Greek: Ντράφι) is a North American style residential area in the municipality Rafina–Pikermi, East Attica, Greece. It is situated east of Athens, on the slopes of the Penteliko Mountain.

Drafi is the prototype model for improved quality of life within a green environment, away from the pollution filled downtown Athens. The master planned development was initiated and brought to fruition by Vasilis Polydoropoulos, the President of the borough of Drafi. During the early stages of development, funds were sourced in part by the borough of Drafi.

From 1980 to 1995 Drafi became a reality as many political obstacles were successfully navigated. Infrastructure such as roads, services, and community parks began to be developed before any homes were built.
