Drägerman

Rescue workers in mines are often referred to as Drägermen. The name originates from the Dräger company in Germany, which produces breathing apparatuses for mine workers.

Alexander B. Dräger, a German scientist and the inventor of combined gas mask and oxygen inhaler worn in underground rescue.
