Douglas V. Sagers[1] is an American politician and a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 21[2] since January 1, 2011. Sagers was the mayor of Tooele from 1974 until 1981.
Elections
- 2012 Sagers was challenged in the June 26, 2012 Republican Primary, winning with 970 votes (53.9%)[3] and won the three-way November 6, 2012 General election with 6,795 votes (59.9%) against Democratic nominee David Swan and Constitution candidate William Bodine,[4] who had run for the seat in 2002.
- 2010 To challenge District 21 incumbent Democratic Representative James Gowans, Sagers was unopposed for the May 8, 2010 Republican convention[5] and won the three-way November 2, 2010 General election with 4,732 votes (52.3%) against Representative Gowans and Constitution candidate Jonathan Garrard,[6] who had run for the seat in 2006 and 2008.
