Douglas Martin Adkins (born October 3, 1963) is a country music singer and songwriter.[1] He recorded eight studio albums between 1990 and 2010, and received a number one hit on the European Hot Disc Country Charts with the song Whiskey Salesman (23 February and 2 March 2006).[citation needed] The song Whiskey Salesman was nominated for "Best Country Song of the Year" in 2008 by the "Independent Music Awards".[citation needed]
Songwriter
During his career, Adkins has written or co-written over 200 country songs, recorded 8 studio albums and in addition to touring the U.S., has toured Switzerland, France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.[citation needed]
In 2002 Doug Adkins and the band "One More Ride," recorded the CD titled '-soul-2027855.html "A Losin' Soul" which was released by ZYX Music, a European Label. The band build a large German and European following and were a hit for the European Country Fan Base.[citation needed]
Songs from the band's 2003 CD A Losin' Soul were released released on various compilation projects like Trucker Hits ("Great Songs for Lonesome Rides") and Highway Hits ("Great Songs for Long Rides").

In 2008 Doug Adkins was nominated for "Best Country Song of the Year" with his song Whiskey Salesman by the "Independent Music Awards".[citation needed]
