Dongshan District, Guangzhou

Dongshan District (Chinese: 东山区) was a former district in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It was located at the west of Tianhe District and the east of Yuexiu District. It was the political and cultural centre of Guangdong Province.[1] It was famous for its high quality education.[2][3] The district was established in 1960, but it was merged with Yuexiu District in 2005.[4]
