The ultimate focus of the DBI is pastoral, engaging with surrounding communities: schools and colleges, church groups and the general public. The current director of the DBI is Fr Gerard J. Norton, OP.

The Diploma in Biblical and Theological Studies is a level 6 course, accredited by the St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. The 30th May 2012 saw successful students being awarded diplomas by Maynooth at a Graduation Ceremony.[1]
