Domagoj "Buco" Ostojić (born July 14, 1977) is a retired Croatian professional kickboxer and mixed martial artist who has fought for Cage Rage, K-1, It's Showtime and SuperKombat League.[1]

Retirement

During his fight against Aruban kickboxer Marcello Adriaansz on 27th December 2012, Ostojić suffered a very large gash below his knee, injuring it. He then caught a high kick to the head, with his temple and orbital bone connecting with Marcello's knee, which then resulted in an even more severe injury, nearly costing the Croatian fighter his vision and forcing him to undergo an operation. This case was followed by numerous Croatian media outlets at that time, and the surgery was performed in Croatia. Afterward, Ostojić was still in recovery, waiting for his eyesight to return to normal. Because of this injury, Ostojić will never again be allowed to put on the gloves and enter the ring, since this could end in a permanent loss of sight for him. Domagoj later officially retired in 2013 when it was confirmed by multiple physicians that he could not be medically cleared to fight.[2]
