Divaldo Alves is an Angolan football manager.[1] He is a UEFA Pro Licence holder.[2]

A former youth coach and scout at S.L. Benfica,[3][4]Alves success came in Indonesia where he first worked as assistant coach of PSMS Medan in 2009, as the club qualified to the quarter finals of the 2009 AFC Cup and semi-finals of 2009 Copa Indonesia.[5] Alves later coached Persebaya 1927 to second place in the 2011-12 Indonesia Premier League.[6] He also coached Persijap Jepara and Minangkabau F.C., with less success. As a result of coaching several clubs in Indonesia, Alves is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.

In early 2013 Alves was unveiled as the coach of the Malaysia Super League club Negeri Sembilan FA.[7] However he was relieved from his job in June 2013, before the end of the season, as the team failed to win a single match under his tenure, and ultimately were relegated from the 2013 Malaysia Super League as the bottom club.[8][9][10][11]
