History

The formerly named Buena Vista International Television was rebranded Disney–ABC International Television (DAIT) in September 2007 as part of The Walt Disney Company's larger efforts to focus on the Disney, ABC and ESPN brands. Then in 2011 was renamed Disney Media Distribution (DMD) as part of The Walt Disney Company's expansion of the Disney brand with pay TV channels such as the Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior (previously Playhouse Disney), Disney Cinemagic, Hungama, Radio Disney and Video-On-Demand services.

As the largest international distributor of kids TV programming, Disney Media Distribution offers Disney-branded animated and live action series, Disney Channel Original Movies, pre-school and Jetix programming. DAIT also distributes reality and scripted TV formats from ABC and ABC Studios.

Disney Media Distribution is part of Disney–ABC Television Group, a division of The Walt Disney Company, and has regional offices in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle-South America and Canada.

Unlike the former Buena Vista International logos, which were placed (and still remain) on nearly all previous shows (2007-) owned by Disney, DMD's logo is usually not seen at the end of programming distributed by them.
