Dinertown

Dinertown is a fictional city and the center of activity in the Diner Dash series of games produced by PlayFirst.

Major Residents

  • Flo: Flo is the central character in the Diner Dash series. A former stockbroker, she quit her job and opened a diner, and has since operated several more. Flo's Diner is her main facility and the center of activity.
  • Grandma Florence: Flo's grandmother. She works in Flo's Diner and in several of the Cooking Dash series, mainly preparing cold meals (salads, etc.)
  • Cookie: Main chef at Flo's Diner.
  • Quinn: Quinn is Flo's roommate and wedding planner, featured in the Wedding Dash series.
  • Darla: Darla is another restaurant owner and good friend of Flo.
  • Tony: Tony is the operator of a pizzeria. In Avenue Flo, he marries Vicky, daughter of Mr. Big (the town tycoon).
  • Mr. Big: Mr. Big is the "villain" of Dinertown. He is portrayed as a tycoon who wants to abolish the smaller businesses and expand his mega-empire, and has considerable clout within the city.
  • Vicky (a.k.a "Miss Big"): Vicky is Mr. Big's daughter, and now wife of Tony the pizzeria owner. In Avenue Flo: Special Delivery, she gives birth to twins.
  • Snookums: Vicky's poodle featured in Avenue Flo.
  • Wilson: Wilson is the owner of the local daycare, featured in Diaper Dash.
  • Walter and Scarlett: Owners of the doggie spa, featured in Doggie Dash.
  • Hal (a.k.a "Hungryman"): Hal is portrayed as a heavy-set maintenance man wearing a hardhat, flannel shirt, and moustache. In several of the games, he will order two meals (the other characters only order one) and thus must be served twice before he pays and relinquishes his table. He rebuilds Flo's Diner in Diner Dash 5.
  • Jo (a.k.a "Jogger"): Jo is featured in Fitness Dash after Dinertown loses a tug-of-war contest to a neighboring town due to its lack of fitness. Jo operates several gyms. She is also featured in Avenue Flo.
  • Karma: Introduced in Parking Dash, Karma inherits a vacant lot next to Flo's Diner. She is about to sell the property to Mr. Big when Flo talks her into making it a parking lot.
  • Barb (a.k.a. "Businesswoman"): An African-American lady featured during the games as having low patience (i.e., she needs to be served ahead of others). She has a crush on Derek. She is also featured in Garden Dash and Avenue Flo.
  • The Smiths: Operators of an organic farm outside Dinertown, featured in Dairy Dash and Avenue Flo.
  • Seymour: An elderly man and frequent visitor to Flo's Diner.
  • Simon: A would-be celebrity.
  • Rosie (a.k.a. "Rosie the Regular"): A young lady and frequent visitor to Flo's Diner. She is given a name in Soap Opera Dash and in that game is portrayed as a would-be screenwriter.
  • Bernie (a.k.a. "Bookworm"): A middle-aged man who enjoys reading. He is accused in Avenue Flo of attempting to destroy Tony and Vicky's wedding (the rings were in his suit pocket), but cleared himself by showing that the suit was actually Mr. Big's.
  • Colin: Colin was featured in Avenue Flo and Soap Opera Dash. He is also featured in the Diner Dash series as a young man talking on his cellphone (which distracts other customers, causing them to lose patience).
  • Ernie: A bus driver featured in the two Avenue Flo games, takes Flo to destinations outside of the walking area.

Establishments

  • Flo's Diner: A formerly closed diner opened and managed by Flo, location and shape changes throughout the series, mostly known for its cyan-coloured walls and red cascade roof tiling.
  • Darla's Cafe: A Cafe that changes location as the series goes on, managed and run by Darla, built a red square building with dark blue covering.
  • Tony's Pizzeria/Ristorante: An Italian restaurant run and managed by Tony, also employs Flo several times.
  • Margarita's Cantina: A Mexican-themed eatery run by the Mexican immigrant Margarita.
  • Toshiro's Japanese Grill: A Japanese-themed sushi bar managed and run by Toshiro.
  • Quinn's Wedding Planning: An office managed and run by Quinn for her wedding planning business.
  • Big Corp: A looming tower with a rotisserie sky deck and roof garden, managed by Mr. Big and employs several thousands of people in cubicle labyrinths.
  • Greg & Herb's Laundromat: A public laundromat managed and run by the twins Greg & Herb, also services valet delivery.
  • Baby Chic Boutique: A boutique for baby dressing run and managed by Chloe.
  • DinerTown Library: A public library for reading about anything, managed by Lani the Librarian. Bernie is found there due to his love of reading.
  • Jo's Fitness Centre: A gym run and managed by Jo the Jogger, also includes a sign-up for people wanting to join the membership and even a tug-o-war team.
  • Wilson's Daycare: A daycare centre for toddlers and little kids, run and managed by the goofy-looking Wilson.
  • DinerTown Theatre: A cinema showing building, previously had a large spill of gumballs by Mr. Big.
  • Diane's Beauty Salon: A beauty salon, managed by Diane.
  • Evan's Grille: A BBQ restaurant managed and operated by Evan, a new character introduced in the upcoming Avenue Flo 3: Dinertown Fire. In the game, Flo helps out at his diner after hers is burnt down. It is unknown what happens after as the game is still in production by PlayFirst.
  • Smith's Farm: An organic farm managed by the Smiths, located outside of town and only accessible by Ernie's bus.
