Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express is one of the premier train in the exclusive fleet of Rajdhani Expresses of Indian Railways. Currently there are three set of Rajdhani Express which connects New Delhi (Capital of India) with Guwahati and Dibrugarh.

Coach Composition

For All three set of Dibrugarh Rajdhani:

  • LOCO-EOG-H1-PC1-A1-A2-A3-A4-PC2-B1-B2-B3-B4-B5-B6-B7-B8-B9-B10-B11-EOG(For 12423/12424 rake reversal at Barauni from New Delhi to Barauni & vice-Versa).
  • LOCO-EOG-B11-B10-B9-B8-B7-B6-B5-B4-B3-B3-B1-PC1-A4-A3-A2-A1-PC2-H1-EOG(For 12423/12424 rake reversal at Barauni from DBRT to Barauni & vice-versa).
  • LOCO-EOG-B11-B10-B9-B8-B7-B6-B5-B4-B3-B3-B1-A4-PC1-A3-A2-A1-PC2-H1-EOG.For 12235/12236,from NDLS TO DBRG and vice-versa
  • LOCO-EOG-B11-B10-B9-B8-B7-B6-B5-B4-B3-B3-B1-PC1-A4-A3-A2-A1-PC2-H1-EOG 12435/12436 from NDLS TO DBRT and vice-versa.

The Locomotives used for this train are:

  • New Delhi-Barauni: WAP-4 from Ghaziabad/Kanpur/Mugal Sarai/Howrah electric loco shed.
  • Barauni-Dibrugarh: WDP-4 or WDP-4B from Siliguri Diesel Loco Shed.

Same combination for the return journey. This train has a reversal at Barauni Junction.This train is the most preferred Rajdhani of the three and demand is very high for this train.The best train between NDLS-DBRG route. Food provided at good if not best. The Train runs on new LHB rakes.

12435/12436 Dibrugarh Rajdhani(Bi-Weekly) Express

12435/12436 runs bi-weekly on Sunday and Thursday (New Delhi-Dibrugarh Town 12436 down) and on Monday and Friday (Dibrugarh Town - New Delhi 12435 up). This train takes 44 hours and 45 mins at to travel 2503;km from New Delhi to Dibrugarh and it takes 42 hours and 25 mins to travel 2502;km from Dibrugarh to New Delhi and vice versa. This train belongs to Northern Railways Railways division of the Indian Railway.

This is not that much preferable train as it takes 6 more hours then 12423/12424. The train doesn't run on high speed tracks as compared to its counterpart 12423/12424 and it also takes more time then Purvottar Sampark Kranti Express. But what so ever being in the category of Rajdhani Express, this train gets the importance.

The locos used for this train are:

New Delhi-Barauni: WDM-3A from Tughlakabad Diesel Loco Shed; Barauni-Dibrugarh: WDP-4 or WDP-4B from Siliguri Diesel Loco Shed.

Same combination for the return journey. This train is uni-directional and there is no reversal. This runs twice a week from New Delhi to Dibrugarh and vice versa in addition to the 12423/12424 which runs daily. This runs on latest LHB coaches.

12235/12236 Dibrugarh Rajdhani(Weekly) Express

12235 takes 42 hrs 0 mins to cover 2501 km between Dibrugarh and New Delhi & 12236 takes 44 hrs 0 mins to cover 2502 km between New Delhi and Dibrugarh. This train belongs to Northern Railways Division of Indian Railways and it runs on Brand new LHB Rakes. 12235/12236 is the latest introduced Rajdhani Express which runs on every Tuesday 9:30 from New Delhi Platform No 16 and reaches Dibrugarh on platform no 1 on Thursday 05:30(12236) and on return journey it departs from platform no 1 of Dibrugarh on Thursday at 19:25 to reach New Delhi on platform no 16 on Saturday at 13:45. It runs through other route to Dibrugarh where it runs via Moranhat instead of Tinsukia.
