Diandra Newlin (born March 4, 1991) is an American actress, singer, and fashion model.[1]
Education
Newlin graduated with honors from Laurel Springs School in 2008. She graduated from Santa Monica College with honors obtaining her Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts in 2010. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May 2012.[2]
Career
Music career
Newlin has studied music with both Bob Marks in New York City and Seth Riggs in Hollywood. She has performed at the Young Artist Awards, Universal CityWalk, and on Good Morning America. She wrote and worked with Roy 'Royalty' Hamilton formally of Capitol Records and Warner/Asylum Music for three years. She also worked with Drew Lane from Silent Chaos Productions/Drew Right Music. Newlin then went to Nashville to record on Music Row with producer Kim Copeland. In 2010, she released a new single "Cuss" written by Barry and Kim Currin from Screaming Tomato Music Publishing.[3] Her single "Boyfriend" was in the movie Dreamkiller.
Acting career
Newlin has guest starred on Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody as well as appearing in three soap operas Guiding Light, General Hospital and on NBC Passions. She was a supporting actress in the motion picture Loving Jezebel by Universal Pictures. She has appeared on talk shows including Good Morning America and ABC Primetime Live. She has also had roles in the films G.I. Jane, Hush, Pootie Tang, Hearts in Atlantis and Mickey.[4] Newlin co-starred in the movie Dreamkiller.[5] She won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film: Supporting Young Actress for her portrayal of Natalia Nemet.
