Dhodial (also known as Dhudial) is a town and union council located near Baffa between Mansehra and Shinkiari in Mansehra District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.[1] The town was badly affected by the 2005 Pakistan earthquake.

Location

Dhodial is located to the north of the city of Mansehra in Hazara area - it has an altitude of 995 metres (3267 feet) and is situated at Coordinates: 34°26′N 73°16′E / 34.433°N 73.267°E / 34.433; 73.267.[2] The river Siren flows alongside the town and a marvellous view of the River can be seen from the town. Near to University Rehmanabad village is situated. Where carpenters, farmers & other technical staff lives. The land Of Dhodial is very fertile regarding vegetables And tobacco. Dhodial is famous for a conservation project for Pheasants. MuDhodial is famous around the world for a conservation project for Pheasants[3]

Hospitals

This area has been known for the treatment of mentally ill patients for a long time. The Government of Pakistan established a National Psychiatric Health unit, called the "Government Mental & General Hospital" in Dhodial in the early 1960s. Its purpose was to treat the mentally ill patients and also had a general hospital. It had a complete range of facilities for the treatment of mental patients, including physical and mental grooming. Dr. Mohammad Irfan took the custody of the hospital as medical superintendent and consultant psychiatrist and other government plans which included the SOS Children's Villages and National Pheasantry. This hospital was shifted to T.B sanitorium Dadar in 2002 and Hazara University was formed in it.

Education

The University of Hazara is situated in Dhodial and provides education to students throughout Mansehra District and the Hazara Region.

Politics

The prominent political group are the Pakistan Muslim League (N) - which is led by Nawaz Sharif. The Swati Tribe who are in the Majority are also politically strong and influential.the other famous political party is the Jammat Islami Pakistan its have a strong hold in the peoples hearts,

Conservation

Dhodial is famous for conservation and captive breeding of various species of pheasants. Dhodial Pheasantry, Asia's largest pheasantry, is located here.
