Dhanyakuria is a census town under Basirhat police station of Basirhat subdivision,[1] in North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India. Every family here have mango trees planted in their yards.
Demographics
As of the 2001 India census,[2] Dhanyakuria had a population of 4,168. Males constitute 51% of the population. Dhanyakuria has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81% and, female literacy is 68%. In Dhanyakuria, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

North 24 Parganas district is one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination.[3]
History
Notable old mansions belonging to zamindars are well-maintained. Many Bengali,Hindi and English movies were filmed there.Some are "Sahib Bibi aur Gulam",Karunamoeema,Abichar,Prathona,Indira,Durgeshnandini,Chut,La nui Bengali etc.
A family called "Sawoo" established the village. They established one school and one health care unit. This village got its first School for only Girls more than 100 years ago. There are three zamindar families ("Sawoo","Ballav" & "Gaine") and one rich family ("Samaddar")whose buildings are remarkable.
