Dhanaura is a city and a municipal board in Amroha district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
Geography
Dhanaura is located at 28°58′N 78°15′E / 28.97°N 78.25°E[1] 14 km from gajraula.It has an average elevation of 212 metres (695 feet)--
Economics
Dhanaura is developing as an industrial town. It has a sugar mill,computer cafes.
Agriculture is the main source of income in Dhanaura, with sugarcane being the main crop.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Dhanaura had a population of 24,465. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Dhanaura has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66% and, female literacy is 49%. In Dhanaura, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age. Dhanaura is a majority of 76,000 Muslim voters, followed by Jats and Jatavs (45,000 each), 7,000 Prajapati, 7,000 Chauhan, 8,000 SC and about 12,000 Yadav votes. [3]
Brahmins and Vaishyas form the upper creame of the city, constituting the most educated and well settled communities. It is the main city of sugar belt area in West U.P. The land is very fertile. Sugarcane, wheat rice, pulses and green vegetables are the main crops. It is a very big market of 'GUR' (a variety of sugar). The main source of income here is the trading of commodities. That is why this place is known as Mandi Dhanaura. Apart from commodities the trade of jewellery and cloths are the other major sources of income. Mandi Dahnaura is also known for temples. In 2010 the nearby area of the city was badly affected by flood in which thousands of peoples & pets were affected & they left their home to take shelter in safe areas. The flood also destroyed thousand of acres farming land which resulted in a great loss to the farmers. Most of the villages nearby Ganga area too badly affected. Dhanaura is developing on a faster rate. It has got its First MLA seat in 2012 and the seat was won by Samajwadi candidate. Dhanaura has been famous for its MANDI and now-a-days Richer people of Dhanaura are starting up with new ventures and spreading the commercialisation of the town. Many new industries are setting up in the town providing with the service opportunities to the lower class. Women here at Dhanaura are from highly educated families and are coming up with new ideas. You will find out many shops being run by women. Boutique system is also spreading out in Dhanaura.
Dhanaura is a hub for rural peoples for shopping and other advances. Dhanaura is well connected with its District and nearby places. The road is of high quality with no pot holes till date.

Saraswati Shishu Mandir and Saraswati Vidya Mandir have been predominantly famous schools in the area, under the UP State Board Affiliation.
