Deutsch Inc. is an American advertising agency headquartered in New York, New York. Founded as David Deutsch Associates, Inc. by David Deutsch in 1969, the company name was later changed to Deutsch Inc. when his son, Donny Deutsch, took over the agency in 1989. Deutsch LA opened its office in 1997 and in November 2000, the agency was sold to Interpublic Group of Companies. Deutsch was sold to the Interpublic Group of Companies in 2000.[1][2] Deutsch is currently led by Linda Sawyer who took over the role as CEO North America in October 2009.[3]

As a fully integrated service agency, Deutsch has been named "Agency of the Year" 10 times in the trade press and has appeared on Ad Age's "Best Places to Work" list two years running.[4] Agency creative awards include Effies, Clios, Cannes Lions, Addys, Webbys, OneShow Pencils, and Emmy nominations. Deutsch has also been recognized for its diversity and inclusion efforts. In recent years, Deutsch was awarded the IPG Inclusion Award for Community Partnerships,[5] the AAF Mosaic Award for Multicultural Talent in Advertising,[6] the Live Out Loud Corporate Leadership Award,[7] and the AEF Agency Award.[5]

Deutsch NY serves as the official headquarters for Deutsch Inc. Val DiFebo was named CEO in October 2009, and oversees day-to-day business and operations with a team of distinguished agency partners.[8] Deutsch NY has produced notable brand-building marketing campaigns such as DIRECTV’s "Football Cops,[9][10]" "The Breakfast Project" for Milk featuring Salma Hayek,[11] the PNC Christmas Price Index,[12] and most recently, the "Inside/Out" campaign for Go Daddy.[13] The agency is located at 111 Eighth Avenue in New York's Chelsea neighborhood, with 138,000 square feet (12,800 m2) and stunning 360-degree views of the city and beyond.[14]

Los Angeles

Deutsch LA opened its doors in 1995, headed by Mike Sheldon.[15] In 2003, Deutsch LA revolutionized the way that cars were advertised with two musical spots for Mitsubishi which featured songs from The Wiseguys and Dirty Vegas.[16][17][18] Continuing with cars, Volkswagen brought its business to Deutsch LA in 2009. The agency has since produced multiple award winning campaigns and Super Bowl spots for the brand.[19] Deutsch LA recently acquired business from the Target Corporation in March 2012. Currently, they are working on Target’s Red Card, back to college, and Olympic brands.[20]
