Deulgaon Raja is a city and a municipal council in Buldhana district in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Deulgaon Raja had a population of 24,372. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Deulgaon Raja has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79% and, female literacy is 63%. Temples

Deulgaon Raja has an old Balaji Temple which is also popularly known as "Tirupati" of Maharashtra.This temple is founded by Raje Jagdeorao Jadhav in 1665.He was from the 4th generation of Jadhav family after Raje Lakhojirao Jadhav (father of Raje Shivaji's mother,Jijabai).Trusteeship of Shri Balaji Sansthan is hereditarily with this Jadhav family.Present Hereditary Trustee is Raje Vijaysingh Jadhav.

Festivals

Every year there is a local festival called 'Shri Balaji Maharaj Yatra' in the month of October.'Latha Mandapotsav' is major attraction of the Yatra.42 nos.of 'Mandaps'are erected in front of Lord Balaji's Temple with the help of 21 wooden pillars called 'Lata'.These wooden pillars are made from Teak wood.Height of each pillar is @ 30 feet & diameter is @ 1.0 foot. Mandapotsav is celebrated one day before 'Dasara'.On the 10th day from 'Dasara', these wooden pillars are allowed to fall down after 'kirtan','kala'&'dahihandi'.It is also called as 'Lalit'.

Deulgaon Raja is well connected to main cities like Nagpur, Pune, Amravati, Aurangabad by road network. It is now will be connected by a four lane road to Chikhali and Jalna in turn to Mumbai.Nagpur-411 km,Aurangabad-89 km. Jalna 27 km

Educational institutions

Deulgaon Raja is a town hub for smaller villages for Educational Institutions like Schools, Colleges and Vocational training centres. Currently it has at least three large and well established vernacular institution -Shri Vyankatesh Arts, Commerce and Science College, Deulgaon Raja, Deendayal Vidyalaya,Deulgaon Raja Highschool and Shivaji Highschool. It also boast of English Medium schools. And Top Most School In Deulgaon Raja is DEULGAON RAJA HIGH SCHOOL, DEULGAON RAJA. In 2011 Top School in District for 10th Result.

The educational standard of these schools are recognised well in the nearby villages and lot of students join these schools once they finish Class 4 or Class 7 in their villages. There are privately run Computer training institutes and also government run ITI centres for imparting Vocational training for people to be meaingfully employed.
