Derek Gaston (born 18 April 1987) is a Scottish professional football goalkeeper playing for Greenock Morton.

Gaston previously played for Albion Rovers.

Career

Gaston turned senior with Albion Rovers in 2009, signing from local youth side Baillieston U21.[1]

Gaston earned himself a move to Greenock Morton after excellent performances in the lower divisions which won him the Scottish Football League player of the month for September 2009;[2] a rare prize for a player at that level to win.

He made his fully professional debut against his old club in the Challenge Cup in July 2012.[3]

After playing all but three matches for Morton in his first season, Gaston signed a new one-year deal in May 2013.[4]

Personal life

As well as playing football, Gaston is also a lifeguard at the Time Capsule in Coatbridge.[5]
