Club Deportivo Maldonado is a football club from Maldonado, Uruguay. They currently play in the Uruguayan Segunda División.

Gabriel Cedrés known as El Gaby or El Tanque, a former player of Peñarol in Uruguay, Boca Juniors, River Plate in Argentina, América in Mexico, he was playing for Montevideo Wanderers until December 2006, is a huge fan of the team. He bought all the new kits of the team for their 2006 re-entrance at the professional leagues. He also declared his desire to retire playing for Deportivo Maldonado. Honduran and Genoa midfielder Julio César de León played in 2001 for El Depor, and then would later join Reggina.
Lately, a sports corporation was incorporated, named Deportivo Maldonado SAD. Its Bylaws were approved by the Corporate Oversight Authority on December 29, 2009, duly filed within the National Registry of Commerce, and published. Deportivo Maldonado SAD is a cultural institution filed within the Sports Institutions’ Registry of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and within the Cultural and Education’s Registry of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Deportivo Maldonado SAD is also registered and filed within the Uruguayan Football Association. Its current President is Mr. Malcolm Caine and its Vicepresident, Mr. Santiago Durán.
