Delia Sescioreanu (born 16 March 1986) is a Romanian tennis player.[1][2] She started playing tennis at the age of seven and rapidly achieved a successful athletic career, winning five national titles and more than a couple dozen international competitions.
In 2007, she obtained an athletic scholarship and started playing for the NAIA tennis champion Auburn University at Montgomery.[3][4] She played for the AUM Women’s Tennis Team for two seasons, winning two NAIA Team National Championships (2008, 2009) and one individual NAIA National Championship in singles and in doubles – partner and teammate Tereze Veverkova (2008).
After a successful career as a tennis player, Delia stopped playing tennis for the University in 2009, focusing all her attention on her education and extracurricular activities. During the course of her years at AUM, Delia was very involved on campus: president of the AUM Student Government Association, president of Omicron Delta Kappa, member of the AUM Honors Program, member of Zeta Tau Alpha, member of Phi Kappa Phi, and School of Business Ambassador. In August 2012, Delia will be attending University of North Carolina at Charlotte to pursue a MBA in Sports Marketing and Management.
She speaks Romanian, English, and Italian.
