Debra J. Heffernan[1] (born April 8, 1962) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives since January 11, 2011 representing District 6.[2]

Education

Heffernan earned her BS in biology from the University of Delaware and her MS in environmental toxicology from Duke University.

Elections

  • 2012 Heffernan was unopposed for the September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary and won the November 6, 2012 General election with 7,502 votes (62.4%) against Republican nominee Eric Taylor.[3]
  • 2010 When Democratic Representative Diana McWilliams retired and left the District 6 seat open, Heffernan was unopposed for the September 17, 2010 Democratic Primary, and won the three-way November 2, 2010 General election with 4,363 votes (51.9%) against Republican nominee Thomas Kovach and Libertarian candidate Matthew Flebbe.[4]
