Dean Scott Lewington (born 18 May 1984) is an English footballer who plays predominantly at left back for Milton Keynes where he is currently captain. He is the son of current England assistant manager Ray Lewington.

Career

Wimbledon

Born in Kingston upon Thames, London, Lewington made his Wimbledon first team debut towards the end of the 2002–03 season as a substitute in the 4–2 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday after coming through the Youth ranks, and was voted Player of the Year just over one year later after a succession of impressive performances saw him stake his claim as the first choice left back.

Milton Keynes Dons

Wimbledon F.C. moved to Milton Keynes in 2003. Dean almost moved to Huddersfield in 2005 in an exchange deal involving Pawel Abbott, however Abbott chose to stay at Huddersfield thus ending their interest. As of 2011, Lewington is one of only two former Wimbledon players at Milton Keynes Dons FC, the other being Goalkeeper David Martin.

He received the MK Dons captaincy after the departure of Keith Andrews to Blackburn Rovers in August 2008. On 21 March 2011, Lewington lead his team to a 1–0 victory over promotion rivals Peterborough United, which continued The Dons' fine form with 5 wins on the spin, before MK were then beat this time by Peterborough in the play-offs.

On 2 December 2012, Lewington captained his side against AFC Wimbledon in their highly publicised first meeting. On 12 January 2013, Lewington made his 400th league appearance for Milton Keynes Dons FC against Bury FC.
