Deal Town F.C. is a football club based in Deal in Kent, England. They were established in 1908 and won the FA Vase in 2000. They are currently members of the Southern Counties East League.

History

The club was formed in 1908 as Deal Cinque Ports FC, changing its name 12 years later to Deal Town. The first leagues the club played in were the Thanet League and the East Kent League and later they became members of the Kent League (not the same league as exists today). After this incarnation of the Kent League folded in 1959, Deal became founder members of the Aetolian League.

In 1963 Town were elected into the Southern League but struggled and eventually dropped down to the Greater London League before joining the present incarnation of the Kent League during the 1970s. They were champions in 2000 but were not promoted to a higher league. The same season saw their greatest achievement as they reached the FA Vase final at Wembley Stadium and beat Chippenham Town 1–0, with the goal scored by Roly Graham, to lift the trophy, the first club from Kent to do so.

Ground

Deal Town play their home games at The Charles Ground, St Leonard's Road, Deal, Kent, CT14 9AU.

Facilities include a stand with seating for 150, hard standing around the full pitch perimeter, a bar and snack bar. In October 2011, The Charles Ground Stadium suffered extensive damage after a large blaze broke out and continued burning long into the night.

Crest

Deal Town's crest is the coat of arms of the Borough of Deal. In 2013 the club was advised that its use of this crest was "unlawful", as the Borough of Deal was abolished in 1968.[1]
