Dead Mine

Dead Mine is a 2012 Indonesian horror film directed by Steven Sheil and starring Ario Bayu and Joe Taslim. The Film was produced by Infinite Frameworks, the production house before working on the musical animated film Meraih Mimpi (Achieved a dream) in 2009. Filming and production of the film was done in the filming facility integrated in Batam Island.

Plot

Warren Price (Les Loveday), the son of a millionaire, with his partner, Japan scientists Rie (Miki Mizuno), Price's girlfriend Su-Ling (Carmen Soo) is on a mission to explore a bunker military relics of Japan's army on the island of Una-Una, Gulf of Tomini, Sulawesi. They were escorted by a team of Five mercenaries, a team consisting of Captain Tino Prawa (Ario Bayu), Djoko (Joe Taslim), Richard (Mike Lewis), and Sergeant Papa Snake (Jaitov Tigor) to protect the Price from pirates. Distressed by the attacks of pirates, they are forced and trapped inside the abandoned Japanese military bunkers. Wounded, desperate, and without preparation, they look for another way out by going deeper into the mine. It is revealed that Price actually wants to search for Yamashita's gold in the mine. Their searches led to some surprising findings. It turns out the bunker is a chemical and biological weapons research facility where the Japanese used prisoner of war of the Pacific war as material experiments. Worse yet, the occupants are apparently still there as monsters and don't expect their presence. Their treasure quest turned into a mission of life and death. Escape is not an option, a team of Five must face a mysterious and deadly enemy that only leaves two choices, kill or be killed.^[1]
