David Weedon

Dr David Weedon is a dermatopathologist in Queensland, Australia who is the author of a textbook on dermatopathology widely considered to be an encyclopedic reference of skin diseases titled "Skin Pathology." Published originally in 1997 and currently in its third edition, "Skin Pathology" [1] is an extensively referenced work that combines information on classic and rare clinical presentations with the common histopathologic findings of those same disorders.

Dr Weedon is Professor of Pathology at Bond University, Queensland[2] and a member of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Committee. He is a founding member of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society.[3]

Appointment as President of the Australian Medical Association

From 1995 to 1997, Dr Weedon was the President of the Australian Medical Association[4] (AMA).

Officer of the Order of Australia

In 1997, Dr Weedon was awarded with the prestigious Officer of the Order of Australia for service to Medicine, particularly in the fields of Education, Pathology and Dermotopathology.
