David G. McDonough (born 1936/1937[1]) represents District 19 in the New York State Assembly, which comprises communities located within Nassau County, New York.
First elected to the State Assembly in a special election held on February 12, 2002 and re-elected in November 2004 and 2006. McDonough is the Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Transportation Committee. He also serves as the Chairman of the Minority Task Force on Sex Offender Watch, and Vice-Chairman of both the Minority Task Force on Crime in our Communities and the Task force on Medicaid Waste, Fraud and Abuse.
McDonough served in the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He received a B.A. in economics from Columbia University.
McDonough and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Merrick, New York. They have three children: David Jr., Susan and Scott.[2]
