David Thomas Guiseppe Francolini[1] (born 13 September 1969 in Hamilton, Bermuda) is an English rock musician and record producer.

Best known as a drummer, Francolini has played in a number of bands. He began playing on the Bristol alternative rock scene in the late 1980s: one of the bands he played in was Something Pretty Beautiful, which went on to tour with The House of Love and resulted in Francolini's introduction to guitarist Terry Bickers. Francolini and Bickers co-founded the psychedelic rock band Levitation in 1990, gaining immediate press attention and praise for dynamic stage performances (including Francolini's impressive drumming skills). During this period, Francolini also co-founded the band Strangelove with Patrick Duff in 1991: although the band itself lasted until 1998 and released three albums, Francolini's own time with Strangelove was brief, only playing for two gigs before being replaced by Jon Langley.

Levitation would go on to release several singles and three albums (Coterie, Need for Not and Meanwhile Gardens). The band would continue until 1994 (despite the departure of Terry Bickers in 1993), and Francolini remained with the band until the final split. He subsequently reunited with two other former Levitation musicians (Christian Hayes and Laurence O'Keefe) to form the psychedelic/alt.rock power trio Dark Star, which lasted between 1998 and 2001 and released one album, Twenty Twenty Sound.

Francolini's current main projects as player and composer are the band Dragons (which released an album called Here Are the Roses in July 2007[2]) and the studio project "City Of The Dead". Dragons split in 2009 with a second album recorded but left unmixed.

Francolini is also involved in the production side of music and manages a studio in Bristol, England called Komplex. He produced most of the releases by short-lived Britpop band Octopus and has worked with Julian Cope (on 2005's Rite Bastard and Citizen Cain'd albums), Transambient Communications, Timo Maas and Mediaeval Baebes, sometimes using the pseudonym "Mitch Razor".
