David Caldwell (born c. 1974) is the current general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the Jaguars in 2013, Caldwell worked for the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Atlanta Falcons.

Early life

Caldwell was born in Buffalo, New York and attended John Carroll University where he played linebacker from 1992 to 1996.[1] He was a teammate of current San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman.[2]

Professional career

Carolina Panthers

Caldwell began his career as a scouting assistant for the Carolina Panthers from 1996 to 1997.[3]

Indianapolis Colts

Caldwell spent ten years (1998–2007) with the Indianapolis Colts as an area scout. He was a member of the staff when the team won Super Bowl XLI in 2006.[3]

Atlanta Falcons

Caldwell served as Director of College Scouting for the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2011. He was promoted to Director of Player Personnel in 2012.[3]

Jacksonville Jaguars

Caldwell was named General Manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars on January 8, 2013.[4] His first order of business with the team was to lead the process of selecting a head coach and on January 17, the team hired former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.[5]
