Dasgupta (pronounced [ˈd̪aʃɡupt̪o]) is a common Bengali last name in West Bengal, India. The last name is found among the members of the Baidya Brahmin caste.

Dasgupta, Sengupta, Duttagupta and other Baidya last names were originally titles, usually given by the rulers and the zamindars (feudal landholders). Most of the Dasguptas are from Moudgalya gotra i.e. they claim descent from the sage Mudgal.[1] There are some Dasguptas of Bharadwaja and Vatsya gotra as well.
