Daryapur (Banosa) is a city and a municipal council in Amravati district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Daryapur is situated on the bank of Chandrabhaga river. The town drives its name from Darya Imad Shah the 3rd independent Kings of Berar (AD 1526–1560) and who founded Daryapur. Daryapur has excelled in education with its old famous reputed Prabodhan Vidyalaya daryapur and other schools which has produced many meritorious students who excelled in different fields of studies. Daryapur is also famous as a cotton producing town with numerous jinning and pressing factories. It also excels in production of cereals like 'Mug' and 'Chana'. Soyabeen production in recent years is also growing. Daryapur Municipal Council comprises three separate town i.e. Daryapur, Banosa and Babhali. Daryapur is the main town where the Municipal Council, ST Bus Stand, and main schools are situated. There is only a narrow-gauge rail line separating Banosa from Daryapur. Babhali and Banosa are separated by a river "Chandrabhaga".

Places of interest in and around Daraypur are the Cotton mill, Kholapuri Gate, Asha-Manisha Temple, Sant Gadge Baba Temple, Parashram Maharaj Temple-Pimplod, Shivgir Maharaj Lehgaon, Gajanan Maharaj Temple-Shiwar, chandika devi temple at chendikapur(of Nandkishor, Pranjali AND P.W.C.) & Bag famous as religious places.

Education

Daryapur has many educational institutes.Prabodhan Vidyalaya Daryapur,Smt. Kokilabai Gawande Mahila Mahavidalay offers Under-graduate and Post graduate programs for girls in various fields of Arts such as Home Economics, Music and J.D. Patil Sangludkar Mahavidhaly. Maulana Azad Urdu high school, Shamim Azad High School, Adarsh mahavidlya, banosa. College nearby Daryapur kashibai agrawal junior college yeoda. Recently Engineering college was opened by Dr Rasu Gavai There are various NGO working in education field are also active such as Pragati shikshan sanstha, Daryapur engaged in various diploma courses in language approved by NCPUIL, Delhi.

Daryapur has excelled in education and has produced many meritorious students who excelled in different fields of studies. Daryapur has grown remarkably in the recent past. Schools such as Adarsh Vidhalaya, Kashi bai agrawal vidyala and Maulana Azad Urdu high school have produced many successful professionals. Famous Industrialist Tahir Ali belongs to these schools, and now has his business empire in many countries. Mr Nilesh Jalamkar director of Debu-Dev Tethechi Janava also from Daryapur.

Daryapur is located at strategic location, equal distance from Akola, Paratwada and Amaravati, also equal distance from Anjaon and Murtuzapur, making a very good destination for education hub, residential housing and farming produce.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Daryapur had a population of 34,398. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Daryapur Banosa has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82% and, female literacy is 74%. In Daryapur Banosa, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
