Danilo Fernando Avelar, born on June 9, 1989 in Paranavai, Paraná, is a professional Brazilian football player. He currently plays for Cagliari .

Career

Avelar began his career in Brazilian clubs and May 10, 2010 joined on loan to December 2010 to Karpaty Lviv in Ukrainian Premier League.[1] The new head coach of FC Schalke 04 announced on March 23, 2011 that the club will not pulled the sale option and Avelar returned on June 30, 2011 to his club Karpaty Lviv.[2]

In 2013, Cagliari bought him out from Karpaty FC.

On 31 January 2014, Avelar was set to join Leeds United on loan, however a transfer deadline day move failed as the move was unable to be completed in time before the 11pm deadline. The move was due to prospective new Leeds owner Massimo Cellino lining up the transfer deal. [3]
