Daniel Larsson (born 25 January 1987 in Gothenburg) is a Swedish football who plays for La Liga club Real Valladolid[1] as a right winger. He is older brother to the IFK Göteborg player Sam Larsson.

Club career

BK Häcken

Larsson started his professional career at BK Häcken. Bigger clubs noticed Larsson after several impressing performances while playing in Superettan and in 2009 he left Häcken for Malmö FF. In his last season at Häcken he was a contributing factor to their promotion to Allsvenskan by scoring 12 league goals.

Malmö FF

He scored his first goal for Malmö FF on April 19, 2009 in the second home game of the season against Trelleborgs FF. For the 2009 season he was the club's top scorer in the league with 11 goals, finishing third in the goalscoring league. 10 of these goals were scored in the latter part of the season together with Edward Ofere who himself scored 10 goals, many of them assisted by Larsson. During 2010 Allsvenskan Larsson became one of the most important players in Malmö FF's title winning squad. Yet again, he scored 10 goals, assisting to 10 as well (winning the assist league). Many plaudit Larsson for developing his game even more where vision, teamwork, passing skill and huge pace were his key assets.[2]

Larsson scored the only goal in the first leg of the 2011–12 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round for Malmö to win the game 1–0 against Rangers at Ibrox Stadium. He finished as Malmö FF's league top scorer for the 2011 season with 6 goals, he also scored 9 assists. The 2012 season was Larsson's weakest season in terms of goal since joining the club as he scored 4 goals in 30 matches. On 7 November 2012 it was announced that Larsson would go on a free transfer to Spanish club Real Valladolid when his contract with Malmö FF ends on 1 January 2013.[1]

Real Valladolid

On 7 November 2012 Malmö FF confirmed that Larsson would transfer to Real Valladolid on 1 January 2013.[1] On 25 October 2013 he scored his first goal for the club, confirming the 3-0 away victory against Rayo Vallecano.

International career

Larsson made his debut for Sweden against Oman as a part of Swedens winter tour on 20 January 2010.[3] On May 17, 2010 he was once again included in the national squad.[4]
