Daniel Travis Davison (born January 28, 1983) is an American drummer, musician, artist, and filmmaker. He is best known for being a co-founder and former drummer of the band Norma Jean.[1] Davison was the last active drummer of the Florida-based metalcore act Underoath before the band's breakup in 2013.[2][3] He is also the founder of Isthmus Studios, a filming company. Davison was born in Douglasville, Georgia,[4] and currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Musical career

Daniel is best known for being a founding member of the band Luti-Kriss, which would later evolve into Norma Jean. Daniel wrote and recorded on every record of Norma Jean's until 2007. His last record with the band was "Redeemer."

In 2007, after 10 years with Norma Jean, Daniel decided to part ways with the band and pursue his own artistic endeavors.

In early 2010, Davison started playing music again with the indie rock band Colour Revolt. He played several shows with them and recorded drums on their latest record, The Cradle.,[5][6]

In May 2010, Davison succeeded drummer Aaron Gillespie in the now disbanded Underoath. Davison helped write and record what would be Underoath's final record, Ø (Disambiguation).[7][8][9]

Film and video career

In addition to being a musician, Davison is also an artist and filmmaker. After leaving Norma Jean in 2007 he started a film and video company named ISTHMUS Studios www.isthmusstudio.com.[10] He directed and filmed the video for "Now that You're Home" by Manchester Orchestra, released in April 2008. Most recently Daniel directed an EP teaser for OWSLA recording artist Kill the Noise,[11] and the yet-to-be-released music video for Brian "Head" Welch[12] from KORN's[13] new band Love and Death.[14]

Personal life

Davison currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife Tessa, whom he married on June 3, 2006. He is not religiously affiliated.[15]
